Marc S. Lemchen, DMD
Dr. Lemchen is a board certified orthodontist having received degrees from both Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and Columbia University School of Dental Medicine. He is affiliated with several of New York’s leading hospitals including Lenox Hill and New York Presbyterian where he is a Senior Attending Orthodontist and holds a teaching appointment at Cornell University Medical College. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Dentistry. Dr. Lemchen is active at both Columbia University and Tufts, being a member of the Tufts University Dental Advisory Board. Dr. Lemchen has always been a leading innovator in the dental field, having a number of patents in dentistry and other in diverse areas. He has pioneered and developed many cutting edge technological innovations in orthodontic imaging, mechanics and software that are used in his practice and others around the world. One of his many patents was the idea of a virtual computer model to visualize an intended outcome of an orthodontic treatment plan. This patent was the framework for Invisalign and integral to all 3D technology in orthodontics. He is a founder of Dolphin Imaging and Management, the leading provider of imaging and management software to the orthodontic community.
Dr. Lemchen’s wife Debbie is a former teacher at The Trinity School and their son Andrew, a graduate of Riverdale Country School and Lehigh University, is currently a dental student at Tufts.
Jennifer Salzer, DDS
Dr. Salzer is a graduate of Duke University with a BS in psychology and a certificate in Neuroscience , and New York University College of Dentistry, where she received her dental degree and post graduate certificate in Orthodontics. There she was the recipient of six academic and scholarship awards, a member of the Deans List, OKU Academic Fraternity, and dual Honors Programs.
Dr. Salzer was chosen to be a featured national speaker for Invisalign orthodontic products, has trained and certified hundreds of dentists in Invisalign training seminars and was voted a favorite speaker by Align Technology. She is a regularly requested lecturer at NYC College of Dentistry as well as many other state wide programs in various topics in orthodontics.
For over 10 years, Dr Salzer has been a national spokesperson and Advisory Board Member for Proctor and Gamble’s Crest Toothpaste products and has worked closely with Crest to educate children and adults on oral hygiene and all aspects of dentistry. She has been working as their expert consultant on many products, appearing in national commercials, working with celebrities and pioneering programs to empower patients.
Motivated by a desire to merge health with esthetics and break out of the traditional orthodontic “cookie cutter” paradigm, Dr Salzer began a continuing educational journey which led her to become an expert in Biobloc Orthotropics, a way to optimize facial form, symmetry, posture, breathing and positive growth in conjunction with a beautiful, full, wide, straight smile. This connection has enhanced our understanding and approach to treating TMJ problems, as well as issues with clenching, grinding, headaches, neck pain, and sleep issues such as snoring and sleep apnea. Our office is the first and most experienced Biobloc Orthotropic trained practice in NYC. Dr. Salzer finished her Orthotropics Mini Residency in 2009 and is a supporting member of the North American association of Facial Orthotropics
Dr Salzer is married with 4 children.
Lacey Winford, DDS
Dr. Lacey Winford is a graduate of Washington and Lee University and the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. She was the recipient of over 12 awards for her excellence in academics, her leadership in organized dentistry, and her outstanding community service with St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
Dr. Winford earned a post-doctoral certificate from the University of Florida Shands Hospital for her studies and research in dentofacial orthopedics. She completed her training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City where she received her specialty certificate in orthodontics.
Dr. Winford’s commitment to her patients is unsurpassed. She founded a study club in New York City to stay on the cutting edge of technology and to more effectively communicate with the top cosmetic dentists, periodontists, oral surgeons, and prosthodontists. By collaborating with these doctors, she creates the most aesthetic and functional facial design for her patients.
Drs. Lemchen and Salzer are both Diplomats of the American Board of Orthodontists. This means that they are both Board Certified and have reached the highest level of professional achievement in clinical proficiency and excellence of case results.
Dr. Lemchen and Dr. Salzer are proud to have been the very first practice in NYC to use Invisalign. Personally visited 16 years ago by the founders, Zia Chishti and Kelsey Wirth of Align Technology, Drs. Lemchen and Salzer immediately realized the amazing benefits it would provide to their patients. They quickly became a consistently elite practice, treating hundreds of cases a year. They are the Top 1% providers of Invisalign providers in the world.
The doctors are long time members of the Schulman Study Group, a nationally recognized association of prominent orthodontic practices. Through this group, they enhance their commitment to exceptional patient care, quality of orthodontic experience and continuing education. They are also Keystone Members of the AAO Foundation, the charitable arm of the American Association of Orthodontists, which provides support to orthodontic education programs and research.
Drs. Lemchen and Salzer are experts in surgical orthodontics. They care for a significant number of surgical patients every year and work with the top oral surgeons from all over the world. They use the best technology to make the process as seamless as possible. Having had jaw surgery herself, Dr. Salzer relates to the patient on a very personal level.
Perhaps Dr. Lemchen and Dr. Salzer’s favorite collaboration is their invention of the “Braces Bracelet” and their leading of the beloved BracedLets brand. Half a million BracedLets have been sold, in many of the most prestigious and famous stores in the world. With the success of this fun product, hundreds of orthodontist have been able to fundraise for charities and give back to their communities. Dr. Lemchen and Salzer were fortunate enough through BracedLets to fund the building of an entire school in an area of need, El Cacoa Secondary School in Nicaragua, through the Pencils of Promise Charity Organization.
